We have been slowly considering these truths:

  1. God the Father is doing something through the Son

  2. That work is going on in the Church

  3. It is authenticated by God the Holy Spirit 

We have emphasized 2 themes:

1.  Election—God chose us to salvation 

2. Predestination—God surveyed the horizon of salvation

      and determined to do several things

      A. Make us like Christ

      B. Adopt us as children

      C. Give us an inheritance

I. Our Salvation was Accomplished by Christ

  --The Father’s pre-determined plan was fulfilled by Jesus Christ when He purchased us

II. Our Salvation was Accomplished Through Christ’s Redemption

  --Redemption is the release of a captive by means of a ransom payment

       1. What was captive?

            >We are!  Mankind is!

       2. What was the ransom payment?

            >The precious blood of Christ

       3. What are the captives set free to do?

            >Worship!
